What Our Guests Say
We take pride in serving our guests with the best experience. Read what they say.
The most fantastic experience ever! I’ve been to Tanzania and I have done the safari before, but this was out of this world. The lodge is situated at the savanna, so beautiful and tranquile. The huts are so delicately decorated and the masais that works there are amazing. They take you out hunting, gathering medicin plants, light fires in the evening, tells stories abo it their life’s. I learned so much in those five days! Truly unforgettable - highly recommended!

This have been the best experiences ever.
The food was amazing. I have celiac and I could eat everything. The chef did made everything glutenfree and it was so good.
Good facilities with bathroom and shower. The rooms are clean, big and built in the local way, but super unique.
From our room we could see giraffes and sebras. We did roadtrips to find different animals.
Overall the staff was very nice and they had this welcoming ceremony for new guest that was so beautiful
A very big thank you to Anita and Boni for a amazing trip. I would definitely come back here. And i think its beautiful that the money they make is for the tinga tinga school nearby. A real gesture to the local community and the childrens education.

Our family of five has just returned home after three weeks in Tanzania. We stayed at Maasailand Milele Tembo Logde for two nights in February 2024. It was an incredible experience and the days at Tembo Lodge, experiencing the Maasai-culture, stands out as the most memorable days of our family-adventure.
When arriving at the lodge we were greeted with singing and dancing, it is difficult to describe with words the warmth and kindness we felt.
The bungalow we stayed in had room for six people, very comfortable beds, toilet, shower and it was nice and clean.
There is no WiFi and limited 4G-signal so this is a time to be offline and live in the moment.
The lodge offer multiple activities such as bush-walk with the maasai, spear-throwing and bonfire at night to mention a few.
When it comes to dining we all agreed that the food served at Tembo Lodge was the best food we got during our whole trip, and we stayed at many different lodges.
We also had the opportunity to visit the school built and run by the organization Maasailand Development for Women and Children. Our children immediately interacted with the local children and they played and had fun in the schoolyard.
We have the pleasure of sponsoring two children at this school and we were so lucky to be able to visit their homes and greet their families during our stay.
A stay at Tembo Lodge is an interaction with local culture, the opportunity to really experience and get to know wonderful people and to reflect on our own way of life; what we have and what we have lost in the western society. As a bonus, the profits from the lodge directly contributes to the running of the school and other projects in the local community.
Five stars simply isn’t enough - this is so much more than just a lodge – we highly recommend to include a stay at Maasailand Milele Tembo Lodge during a trip to Tanzania!

We have just arrived home after unforgettable weeks in Tanzania. We have seen great things and met fantastic people on our way, BUT our first three days in Maasailand still stand as the experience that made the biggest impact on us.
Already on our way from the airport to Tembo Lodge in Tinga Tinga we felt like coming home. Anita and Boni made us feel so welcome, telling us about their project, the surroundings and the local culture. At the logde we were warmly welcomed by the local Maasai and the rest of the staff. It was a beautiful and warm ceremony full og dancing, joy and laughter.
The lodge was great, lovely situated in the landscape, with beautifully decorated bungalows, built in traditional style and materials, but offering all the comfort you appreciate after long and adventurous days. We felt so close to nature, waking up to those incredible sounds of the bush and the spectacular view. Surprisingly and probably because of the light breeze most of the day, we were not bothered by insects and thus we could enjoy many of our meals under one of the beautiful acacia trees. The food, both at breakfast, lunch and dinner, was amazing and made already great days perfect.
During our stay we visited a local Masaai boma, learned about useful plants and traditional Maasai medicine on a bushwalk, joined a spear throwing competition and a great Maasai barbecue by the campfire. However, one of the greatest highlights was the visit of the school which is financed through the income from the lodge. Seeing what MDWC has achieved for the Masaai community in Tinga Tinga was impressive and made our stay even more meaningful.
We have never met so many smiles as we did in Tinga Tinga and we will never forget the way you made us feel at home at Tembo Lodge . Thanks to all of you! We'd love to come back and recommend to everyone to visit this great place.

We visited the lodge for 3 days at the end of January 2024. We could not imagine what to expect. A lovely and unique place, with beautiful scenery and snow-covered Kilimanjaro in the background. Our welcome by the Maasai was a great experience. The cabins were completely unique, comfortable and clean. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with exquisite food for every meal. All the staff were very friendly.
Everyone should have the experience the private safari in the local area. Driving around the area in search of elephants and other wild animals was exciting
Thank you very much for some unforgettable days with you at the lodge. We would like to recommend a holiday here.

9 people from Norway visited Anita and her wonderful maasai staff in january for 3 nights and 4 wonderful days by the foot of Kilimanjaro, with amazing veiws from our cabins. Elefant safari (they are BIG), antilopes, zebras, lots of giraffes, monkeys - a fantastic trip in THE BEST safari cars ever. Wonderful driving offroads in this spectacular area. This is the place for learning the maasai culture! Even staying in houses made in traditional materials (though VERY luxery facilities). Visiting the school was awesome, and the school with 400 students is financed by the Camp. Food is delicious. Hereby recommended!

The food was amazing and the chef was very nice. They can even make all glutenfree food.
In the mornings we could see giraffes and sebras from the bedroom window, and they sometimes saw traces of elephants that had passed the houses.
Overall the staff was very nice and they had this welcoming ceremony for new guest that was so beautiful!
The activities was very fun, from throwing spear to bush rides and nature walks searching for animals and so on. They also have their own cars for Safari so easy and safe to book via the lodge.

My family of five had the pleasure of staying at Maasailand Milele Tembo Lodge, and it surpassed our expectations. Upon arrival, a group of Maasai welcomed us with a traditional song and dance, and they were incredibly hospitable throughout our entire stay, always available to help with a smile on their faces. Although the lodge is small, the accommodations were stunning. The huts were spacious and beautifully designed, blending traditional Maasai architecture with modern comforts. The views of the savannah and mountains were breathtaking, and the food was exceptional. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I was impressed with the chef's culinary skills, and every meal was delicious. Boniface and his team of staff are passionate about their work and they have extensive knowledge of the local wildlife and the surrounding area. Staying at this lodge was an opportunity to learn about the Maasai culture and its traditions. We enjoyed every moment of our stay, from the nature walks to the Maasai dancing and spear throwing. We also visited the local school and church and shared stories around the campfire. From start to finish, our stay was extraordinary, and we can highly recommend this lodge.
